OPENS JANUARY 2027 · 48 LIVE SESSIONS A YEAR, ALL RECORDED · ONLY 50 FOUNDING PLACES

We spend so much time on what children learn.

Almost no one is looking at how they think.

Letters. Numbers. Benchmarks. The expectations on early childhood educators leave little room for anything else, and very little room for children's own ideas.

When children's thinking has no space, curiosity gets crowded out. Children are labeled as "misbehaving," and new strategies arrive to manage them. But strategies rarely reach the cause.

What reaches it is a different kind of attention: spaces designed for curiosity, adults who notice what children are thinking and know how to respond, and educators who have room to think together.

You care deeply about children, relationships, creativity, and meaningful learning. That care is the foundation of everything you do.

But somewhere along the way, the work became heavy.

Too much pressure. Too many expectations. Too much papaerwork. Not enough time to think deeply, collaborate meaningfully, or simply breathe.

You feel emotionally drained and creatively exhausted. You miss feeling curious. Inspired. Creative. Present.

You are longing for thoughtful conversation, meaningful reflection, and genuine connection with educators who understand the weight of what you carry.

And maybe the hardest part is this:

You feel like you have no one to think with.

But it does not have to stay this way.

You care deeply about children's thinking.

The work doesn't always leave room for it.

You care about children, relationships, creativity and meaningful learning. That care is why you do this work.

But somewhere along the way, the work became heavy. Too many expectations. Too much paperwork. Benchmarks to meet. Not enough time to think deeply, notice what children are telling you, or simply breathe.

You miss feeling curious. Creative. Present.

And maybe the hardest part is this: you have no one to think with.

It doesn't have to stay this way.

“

I need a community where I can reflect, think, and plan alongside others.

— Ariana, an educator, after a workshop. Her words became the reason the Studio exists.

The educator as a thinking researcher.

You can only see what children are exploring when you've explored it yourself.

In one Studio inquiry, educators wanted to go deeper into children's work with color. Instead of setting out primary paints and seeing what happened, we studied color ourselves, starting with the artist Josef Albers. We explored how hues and tones are made, and how color shifts with light.

With that knowledge, educators began to see what children were actually investigating, and could make that thinking visible to children, families and colleagues.

That is what it means to be a thinking researcher: curious about children's curiosity, and willing to learn alongside it.

One framework, four ways of thinking alongside children:

  • NOTICE: Children and educators make thinking visible through attentive observation and listening.

  • REVISIT: Children and educators return to experiences to reconsider and transform ideas.

  • CHRONICLE: Children and educators co-construct the evolving story of their investigations.

  • DESIGN: Children and educators co-construct and transform the conditions that make further inquiry possible.

This work feels meaningful again!

Two thought leaders on children's thinking.

Miriam Beloglovsky

Thought leader on children's thinking · Author · Researcher

Co-creator of the Revisiting Journeys Framework, author of the Chronicles of Children's Thinking, and award-winning co-author of the Loose Parts series. For 35+ years, her work has shaped how educators around the world notice children's ideas and design environments that invite them.

Jessie Frazier

Thought leader on children's thinking · Professor of ECE · Co-founder

Co-creator of the Revisiting Journeys Framework and co-author of Revisiting Journeys. A professor of early childhood education and Chair of the San Diego Reggio Roundtable, Jessie specializes in long-term inquiry: following children's theories over time instead of replacing them.

Directors, coaches and teachers: there’s a place for each of you.

Directors, coaches and teachers each come to the studio with different questions. Here is how it meets each of you.

  • Directors and administrators: You have a vision that brings your team together. In the Studio, you think alongside your educators, not ahead of them. Notice, Revisit, Chronicle and Design give all of you a shared language for children's thinking, so you can recognize it together, talk about it with families, and grow your program's direction from what you discover side by side.

  • Coaches: You believe the best coaching grows from shared curiosity. In the Studio, you and the teachers you support look at children's thinking together, as partners in the same inquiry. Notice, Revisit, Chronicle and Design give you a shared way to explore a child's idea, revisit it side by side, and decide together what comes next, so both of you grow from every conversation. Miriam spent 30 years preparing educators, and many of the teachers she worked alongside now mentor others in the same spirit.

  • Teachers: You notice the thinking in children's play every day, and you want time and company to go deeper with it. In the Studio, you bring a moment from your classroom on Thursday: a child's question, a theory, a drawing you keep returning to. You revisit it with other educators and with Miriam and Jessie, then take it back to the children and follow where their thinking goes next. Over the year, you build confidence in what you see, find the words to share it with families and colleagues, and shape your room around children's ideas, alongside people who think with you. It's the same way of thinking behind the Loose Parts and Revisiting Journeys books, now practiced together, week by week.

  • Everyone: Come think with us. Join directors, coaches and teachers who are as curious about children's thinking as you are, and grow together in a community where your questions are always welcome.

This is not a space built around pressure, performance, or perfection.

It is a thoughtful Studio where educators come together to reflect, explore ideas, and feel inspired in their work again.

What a year in the Studio makes possible.

Each part of the framework changes something you can see in your work, and in children's play.

NOTICE

You and the children make thinking visible. You see their ideas, theories and questions, not just what they can do, and you trust what you observe.

Revisit

You return to experiences with children, and to your own assumptions, so ideas can be reconsidered and transformed. Coaches grow teachers' thinking instead of replacing it.

Chronicle

Your documentation becomes the evolving story of children's investigations, co-constructed with children rather than written about them.

Design

Children become co-designers of their spaces, time and relationships. Your environment is never finished; it changes as their questions and theories evolve, and leaders build programs where that is possible.
